Congratulation to everyone who made the team!! Remember to send in your schedules to (rhythminc.danceteam@gmail.com) along with a headshot and your bio (dance career, hobbies, interests, background info, etc.). Also, first practice is this WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1^st! it will be in the Tiger Lounge from 7pm – 9pm. We will be going over some team rules so make sure to attend!

For those who would like to reaudition, or could not make it to the auditions on Sunday, you still have a chance!

What you have to do is attend the next FIVE (5) practices. We will be teaching routines every time and on the 5^th practice we will randomly pick a dance that you have learned and you will audition it right there. The first practice will be WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 1^st in the Tiger Lounge from 7pm – 9pm!!!

YAY so another season is about to start for RHYTHM INC.!

You know what that means????

WORKSHOPS AND AUDITIONS!!!!!

We are having open practices for anyone interested or curious about hiphop dance all this week at BURNS TOWER at 7pm! It is the huge white and colorful building at the very front of UOP.

This year we are having auditions at UOP's Grace Covell Hall. Once you go inside you will turn left into the TIGER LOUNGE!

They will be held on Sunday, August 29^th, 2010. From 1:30 – 6:00pm

Here's how our auditions typically go:

1:30: registration starts

2:00 – 3:15: warm ups and learn the first routine!

3:30 – 4:45: learn the second routine

5:00 – 6:00: Q &A session!

If you don't know where Grace Covell Hall is, please come to BURNS TOWER by 1:00pm. A returning RI member will be sure to meet you and take you to the TIGER LOUNGE!

SUMMER 2010 RESULTS!!

First off, everyone on Rhythm Inc. would like to thank everyone who came out to the summer 2010 audition J.

I would like to first explain how it is that we decided the results. Rhythm Inc. is very much a training dance team where we introduce many beginning dancers to the world of dance. As a result, we have a "competition" and a "trainee" team.

As a part of the competition team, you have shown the execution and control in your movements that can readily fit in with the rest of the crew. With some fine-tuning and cleaning, you are just about ready to perform and compete at our numerous events. You will still need to learn all the pieces and attend all the practices to be an active performer.

As a part of the trainee team, you have shown the willingness and eagerness to learn that we look for. However, we believe that you are still in need of some further dance experience. This is the reason that we have the trainee team. This is your chance to dance with Rhythm Inc. and attend all the events that we are responsible for. You are officially a part of the team; but we do not feel ready to put you on a stage in front of thousands of people and notorious judges. If however we see that you excel in a certain piece or style, it is very possible that you will be placed in that particular routine.

Practices start immediately at Footnotes Dance Studio: May 12^th at 8:00pm, May 13^th 8:30pm, and May 14^th 5:00pm.

There is a onetime $20 membership fee that every new member must pay. Please bring this $20 by May 14^th (FRIDAY).

A: hell yea i do!! although its kinda sad that i dont know 98% of the team anymore since almost everyone is new...lol. i honestly have been wanting some type of reunion with everybody (originals and new) and enjoy the same moments that made us a FAMILY...that would b one of my dreams come true :) RI hella changed both my lifestyle and personality. i honestly think w/o them i would not b who i am now. yes, they were that big of an influence on me and im grateful to have had all of them in my life :)

The Breakthrough Hip Hop Competition started three years ago as an outlet for struggling and undiscovered teams. Let's call them "garage crews." Just like bands struggle from their garages to their next gigs, dance crews are always on the lookout for another stage or another performance. Stockton is not exactly a Mecca for the hiphop dance scene. So, Rhythm Inc. decided to bring the hiphop to Stockton.

In order to publicize the events, Rhythm Inc. also hosted a Promo Party in the University of the Pacific's DUC Ballroom on April 10^th. There were performances throughout the night and free tickets to the Breakthrough Competition were raffled to guests.

The Breakthrough event included not only a night of competition. In addition, Rhythm Inc. organized two days of workshops. Both days consisted of at least four hours of classes taught by Rhythm Inc. members, directors from Breakthrough teams, as well as renowned choreographers Krisuan Rosalejos of VIP San Jose, RJ Navalta from ABDC's Supreme Soul, and Bboy Devonair from Sickstep.

This year's Breakthrough 2k10 was the third and by far the largest competition thus far. The night was jam-packed with eighteen of California's most eclectic crews. There were six teams that showcased routines: Yuppie Jointz, ThatOneCompany, Soulidified Projects, Pandora's Myth and Silhouette, BR and VIP Breakers, and Stockton's very own Rhythm Inc. These teams performed their routines in the hopes of showing the remaining twelve crews the caliber of talent and skill present in the hiphop world today. Breakthrough not only offered the opportunity to compete with some of the best, but also shows these developing teams where the standards are set.

Those standards were shattered on April 18^th, 2010 when the twelve competing teams took to the stage. The teams competing were the following: The Team, Rewind Cru, Booniez Crew, DVAS, En_tense, Main Stacks, Wrawsome, Smash Bros, On Point, Prophecy, Press P.L.A.Y., and AYoungin. The show started around 6:30pm and ended promptly four hours later. It was four hours of nonstop dancing. The scores were close. The rankings were constantly changing.

However, one team clenched the first place spot till the very end. Main Stacks from the University of California in Berkeley performed an Olympic themed routine that guaranteed them the first place trophy and $1000 check. Second place and $300 was awarded to Prophecy. Wrawsome earned the third place spot.

Even though Breakthrough 2K10 is over, Rhythm Inc. has already headed straight back to work. With SPOCOM 2010, another hiphop competition, just around the corner on May 1^st, it is clear that hiphop is here to stay.

Hey everyone,

So ya now that I know how to use this thing… here goes.

I'm just so excited for Breakthrough! Just thinking about it gets me antsy. I truly appreciate everyone's effort to be at practice during these hell weeks and I know if we give it our 100% we can pull off a pretty bomb showcase! I know that we will be under lots and lots of stress during this time but I know if we keep up the positivity it'll be a piece of cake. Cuz like seriously… who needs sleep? Hahah jk. But ya I know it'll get frustrating so please bear with the directors because in the end, we're just tryna do what's best for everybody. I hope everyone is able to manage their time wisely and when you feel overwhelmed just remember that we're a team and we're here to support each other when times get tough. I've only been back with you guys this semester but I already see improvement in ALL of you. I'm seriously so proud of you guys like …you don't even know. Cyndy…one word. AMAZING. Emily, Nick, Grace, Teresa… as new directors you guys are doing an AWESOME job while still being AWESOME dancers as well. Francis, Ryan, Jun, Robert, Rob, Stephany, Rachel, Richard, Paul, Jon Leary, Jon Lopez, Josh, Nate (don't think I forgot anyone) …you guys are just BOMB. Thanks for your patience and focus in practice. I see you guys getting BETTER every day. Keep up the energy and practice your facials in the bathroom mirror… or any mirror. If you guys need to get something off your chest or vent or whatever, feel free to talk or text me about it. This is our biggest show ever. I've never been more excited and I know we can kill it!! BREAKTHROUGH HERE WE COME! YEEEE! 1 ..2 ..3 ..INC THIS!!

Transitions

It's definitely still an interesting transition from passing on the torch to the three new Directors, Emily Hsu, Nick Nguyen, and Tery Nguyen but I have no doubts as to how far we are able to go. The way that things are handled, I hope that communication becomes a really strong point between the three's relationships with each other and so far I've seen it coming together well with its ups and downs. It's a little humorous to see them dealing with the excuses and difficulties that any director would have to go through and it's nice now cuz they can understand what I've been put up with, along with many other choreographers/directors on other teams J what I'm so proud about is as well is that they're all still young and seeing them take over now, age isn't even the factor, and it's more on their maturity and ability to take on more than one responsibility =)

The Breakthrough piece that Rhythm Inc. will be doing this year has been put together by solely them and I'm for once am not working on the mix or choreographing to any of the pieces but more on the learning side. I'm loving the pieces and we have three weeks to put everything together. EXCITED! J See everyone then!

Rhythm Inc. wants to first thank World of Dance for inviting both our upper division and junior teams to come out again to their NorCal competition. We will not be performing at this event but we wish the best for all of those who will be working, performing, as well as judging the event. Can't wait to see the results!

Also we would like to announce that our previous plan to perform at the Filipino Festival this week at Six Flags has been cancelled but we look forward to working close with the producers of this show to perform at future events!
